EGYPTIANS
Are you ready for an archaeological adventure? We start the day searching for artefacts and buried treasure before then finding ourselves in the midst of ancient Egypt, learning about the Pharaohs, hieroglyphs and the mighty empire on the Nile.
EXPLORERS
Grab your binoculars and maps as we retrace great adventures. We learn about some of the world’s most famous explorers, learn how to read a map and safely plan our own adventures. As we head off on our journeys, we discover the great and sophisticated kingdoms that existed there long before the Europeans arrived.
SCEPTRE ISLE
Join us for a sensational search of Shakespeare's Sceptred Isle bound in with the triumphant sea. What was the world Shakespeare was writing about really like? We step into Elizabethan England and discovered rather than a golden era, England was in a period rought with danger. Neighbouring countries threaten imminent invasion and the Globe theatre was full of crowds ready to throw rotten food at any actor they didn’t like. This camp is the perfect preparation for studying Shakespeare, and developing a love for the danger of his world that will deepen your understanding of his plays.
SPACE RACE
Are you ready for blast off? Two rival super powers. The Soviet Union and USA enter a race to conquer space. From firing rockets, to the first man in space, we learn about the key technological developments, understanding how a space rocket works and then plot our own lunar landing.
KNIGHT ACADEMY
So you’re ready to become a knight? Did you know that many medieval armies were inspired by mighty queens as well as kings? At Knight Camp we learn about some of history’s most famous knights and the battles they fought in. We also enjoy the fun and festivities of the great jousting tournaments.
PIRATES
Yo ho ho, shiver me timbers, are you ready to climb aboard for a dangerous nautical adventure? Pirate ships at the ready as we learn about the real pirates and the numerous Kings and Queen that used pirates like Walter Raleigh to cause menace to rival countries. We join in sea shanties and then discover the dangers posed by the pirates and smugglers that exist today.
VIKINGS
Who were these legendary warriors with horned helmets and mighty boats? Why were their ships so fast? We explore their history in Britain from violent invaders to famous kingdoms and the establishment of Dane law. We learn about their great adventures, epic poems and what impact the Vikings have on our lives? Did you know the last battle they fought in England was in 1066? Did you know they reached America hundreds of years before Columbus? Sound your battle horn and prepare for a day of Vikings adventures.
WONDERLAND
We jumped through the looking glass for an entertaining day exploring Victorian Literature. We delve into the works of Charles Dickens, Robert Louis Stevenson, George Elliot and Lewis Carol and step into the Victorian world they were writing about. Wonderland is the perfect way to inspire a love for these classics and give children the knowledge to thrive when they study them at school.
